I think they should. Mods should be held to a standard just like members are held to a standard.

Well, I assume there's still admins hiding in the shadows somewhere.
(though I doubt they'd have the time to rate their own mods)
I'm just saying that if the goal is SITE EFFICIENCY...then it's only fair.

How would you suggest such a system be set up?

I'm pretty fucking drunk, so I'm in no position to accuratley depict how the system shall be set up.
Giving you and Rono 0 points, and LearyFan 12 points would be a pretty solid start though.

We get warnings...
I had a few warnings....3 or 4 years ago when I was a little less thicked skinned.
I got a warning from OMR in the Pub...recently. Because I told some asshole to STFU after he started flaming me for no reason.
and I walked away from the computer for the day and went for a drive in the car...to chill out.
We have feelings and make mistakes too.

I dont really see any infraction there? Are you trying to say that moderators are in no way shape or form allowed to participate as members, or have some 'off-time' where they can make jokes have some fun of thier own?

Now that's just plain mendacious.
From the Pub rules:
"No Flaming, Baiting, Trolling"
"Do not post in someone else's thread or start a thread to say something malicious or harmful."
"Any post for the sole intent of causing drama will not be tolerated"
And from the sole post other than the rules, indicating that OMR has certainly read, and understands them:
Quote:
OneMoreRobot3021 said: This thread has been closed.
Reason: Them's the rules.
Now if you can't see that the post broke all three of the rules, then you are either being facetious, or are unfit to moderate.
This goes to the biggest cause of "drama" on the Shroomery, unfair/biased moderating.

The difference being that OMR was obviously (at least to the admins/mods) just screwing around with RC. Admittedly mods are given more leeway than users, but considering the amount of bullshit and endless whining that we put up with, I'd say it's fair.

RF*
That's just it. When I was obviously not being racist with linking to a news article, I got 5 days. When I was obviously replying to e-chode in a joking manner, I got 16 days.

First step towards recovery is admitting you have a problem. Good job.

And I say it's not. Bias is the moderator form of whining, and the members put up with an endless amount of it. Neither side deserves breaks.

Unfortunately for you, Mods are only human and as such tend to make mistakes. That's why we have checks and balances to try and make everything as fair as possible...if you have an issue with a mod, tell an admin and they'll look into it. If you don't like the admins response, then you have 2 choices... accept it and move on, or create your own website and make whatever rules you like. Everyone needs to understand that the Shroomery IS NOT a democracy, nor is it our responsibility to bend to every users whims or complaints that they've been 'singled out' or 'picked on' (God I wish I had a nickle for every time I've heard that) I realize that sounds harsh, but it's the way it is...accept it or post elsewhere.

why do you bother? i mean what in it for you? are you beein treated unfair? most here are very satisfied with how things works here, the majority are satisfied with the mods and the admins job. go make a poll if you dont belive me. why should the mods, the admins and the rest of the board have to listen tp a few of you complain all the time? its annoying, in my opinon you should be banned. if things arent satisfying, why dont you create a forum of your own where you can be king and rule as you please.
and a question for the admins: why do you even allow this to continue?
