I've been interested in obtaining a pyschedelic smoke from river grass for a long time. Does anyone know whether the leaves or roots are best? Or have any other pointers?

I am mostly interested in collecting from my area, and also getting 5-meo in particular.
All of the reports that I've read talk about digging up the roots. I've read some places that pounds of leaf are needed, and recently that that's just not true.
I will search but I don't believe I have seen anyone here post any solid results from the Phalaris grasses.

Do you mean huge pain to extract, or as in the material itself?
I just think it would be great to have something I collected myself rather bought over the internet, and I don't care if a few weeks worth of work only yield a couple doses. I really enjoy 5-meo too

I decided to get an ounce of Phalaris Arundinacea seeds just a few weeks ago, just for kicks.
I also have been putting some thought into this, I constantly hear negative reports about gramine content but rarly, if ever, hear of first hand accounts of experienced toxicity so I'm really wondering if this is a huge concern or not. I have trouble finding gramine toxicity information also, so I'm curious to say the least.
The reference to it being a pain to work with, I assume, is related to the inconvience of rupturing the cell walls prior to the extraction, simmering over night, long extraction period, etc.

Only one way to find out

The tek I read today said good results could be had from chopping, freezing, blending with lemon juice or vinegar, boiling to a tar and soaking the boiled down tar in Everclear and evaporating. I wonder if one was to de-fat first with xylene, would a standard n,n,DMT tek be possible?

All the teks I've read involve defatting with one solvent or another.
