Wardriving

i would like to wardrive... or actually just gain access to my neighbors wifi. The encryption is only Wep encrypted, but programs such as Airsnort, can only operate on Linux based Os.

I do not want to partition my laptop with a whole other OS, do you think if linux based programs such as knoppix, or featherlinuix will be able to support these wardriving type of programs?

I am willing to advance to a 2 laptop setup, one to ping the router, and one to gain access to the data. I just would like a bootable format..... Ie.) Jumpdrive, or bootable cd.

you should probably use a live distro thats for security/networking like

also, other live distro options are:

BackTrack (whax combined with auditor)
and Phlak (not as good, but still does the job)

wardriving lol, i remember when i was a kid, after the movie wargames (sometimes in the middle of the 80s), me and a friend used to wardial whole areas, we found several bbs and found ways to compromise their security. but somewhere up in the years i found that stealing services is pety theft and pretty pathetic. instead i focused on *nix security and have written well over 40 exploits, but i quit all this hacker shit severl years ago.
i still enjoy readin bugtraq and attrition (amusing), coding assembler and C is one of my fav hobbies,...anyways im ramblin off, but pay for your damn internet. wardrivers are annoying for admins.

all i want is his.... but i found a bootable version

So if i had a wifi i just run this program and it will give me his paraphrase in WEP?

I'm confused, the only person that i has a good signal is protected, my wifi asks for his paraphrase, is that what this program does? if not, is their a way i can figure this out?
