Cubase Track: A New Night Sky
    #5245514 -

:smile:Hey Guys!
This track was inspired by my view of the night sky out my window.. and by my older track i made.  Its also got my voice and my little brothers voice in it. Definitely the longest ive spent on a single track.  This one took some time, thats forsure.  But im happy with it.  hehe, just go ahead and follow the link and it should auto play.  To view the original "night sky" its below my new one.  Thanks everyone and enjoy!

I like it, very ethereal. I can tell your strong suits and your weaknesses, and you do quite well with melodies, harmonies, and creating an environment. But your drums need a little...something....

Thanks for sharing Toddo! I like the way it moves me

How long did you spend on this track? I too often create a great foundation of a song and put it off for a while. But actually working on my last song took me about 4 months.....

Thanks for the words blastid! You know.. i was thinking about the drumming last night. And you confirmed my thoughts. I think i need to spend a little more time on my first part drums. I got really lazy with them. Just did this gay simple pattern i thought would work.

4 months? by god, thats insane. I cant wait to here it! Im finding my tracks are gradually getting taking longer to make. This track took about 2-2.5 weeks ish. Just kept building around the core. Kinda shaped itself out.

All tho it surprised me, i could really see a track being worked on for that long. Just adding and fixing things each time i have a chance.

exelent

Piano sounds nice, and like the other guy said. The drums do seem to need something. Maybe place them differently, as in EQ and FX.

Wo~~

When the 2nd phase of the song came in I was blown away. I love it. Sounds like something sphongle would do, but you did it, and its great.

keep going

I could see you in a chillout tent at a gathering one day

damn man, that means alot!  Thanks.  Yeah..  im redoing the first drums right now.  I should be able to finish tonight.  Im also turning down those effects in the middle 'spacey" section of the track.  Its really high pitched.

Again, thanks xul and everyone else

nice piano piece
like the part after that too, although, like you said it need some EQing for the high pitches.
the second middle part is the best imo, better drums and an overall nice combination with the strings, piano and everything

nice....i really like the panning in the break.
like they said, def. need some eq work. i would
add some low end boost for the kick...maybe at around 100-200hz.
and definately tweak some of those highs..was hurting my ears at times. its hard to really tell through my shitty pc soundsystem,
i would also work on the structure a little bit,
its not quite pulling. maybe add a few builds, or rinses.
good job though!

thanks for those comments mycoprog & stephan! yeah, i really need to read up on proper EQing. Ive been spending most of my time on actual orchestration, color, and structure. I plan on delving into EQ next.

I re uploaded the song. new drumtrack/baseline and did some middle part EQ. Also added a bit here and there. I think it flows a alot better.
