To all those who love psychedelic and progressive genre-bending rock bands, you might like to check out this band, Spoonfed Tribe, originally a local band from Dallas.

I hadnt heard them til just last week, even though ive heard their name on radio stations, advertising local shows years ago, but theyre amazing.

They blend psychedelic space rock with folk music, tribal percussion, a touch of reggae, and a pinch of jazzy fusion. Like incubus meets shpongle meets the mars volta or something.

Someone asked me if i wanted to go see them play a show, and i heard a sample of their music on myspace.com and could tell that i would enjoy the show on some shrooms.... a by george, i did.

They had an amazing show, awesome lighting, 2 digital prjectors, one reversed to make a symmetrical screen, with the trippiest of imagery. But the best part of the show, i think, was the audience participation. everyone was dancing. its very dancable music. It was like a tiny 3 hour version of burning man or something. No wait... the best part of the show was that it was only 10 bucks.

anyway, i really enjoyed it, and really enjoyed them, and figured that there might be some people who would love this music. Hers a link to where you can download a couple of their albums if you want to test the waters. But if you like the music, support the band. Go to a show next time they come near you.
