Oh my god what the hell is happening

So yesterday I noticed that the caps of one of my mushrooms had a blackspot in the middle.

(it looked about like this one yesterday)



Today, this:







There are still a few healthy mushrooms...but I guess they dont have long...



So what is this anyway? What can I do? Is the cake ok? Or should all of it be dumped?

At times I get consumed by my everyday life and will leave the Shroomery. Yet, every time drugs come falling into my life for fun.....I always think about the Shroomery and then I'm back!

It looks like bacteria. Was the cap pushed up against the lid of the container? If yes, it's from that...

Nope, it definately wasnt. The weird thing is that a few had the contam and a few didnt. I pulled the bad ones and the good ones are still growing fine (for now at least)*shrug*

Water has probably dripped onto it from the top of the fruiting chamber.

That's some sort of condensation problem or something along those lines. I wouldn't worry to much after the fruit are cracker dry. The bacteria will die. I've eaten worse in my days....

If you're overly concerned with getting food poisoning, a hot tea with your fruit will do the trick. Simmer them in a pot of water for a 1/2 hour plus to get all the goodies out for consumption. Simmer them until they are slimey and spent...

Well now the two healthy mushrooms are turning black. Not like the ones in the pics, I woke up this morning and there were black streaks across them, then a few hours later they were almost completely black. I guess I'll just ride it out and see if the cake just needs to be tossed.

Actually, it MIGHT be spores, it's just that I've never had this happen this early on...especailly with this strain.
