The orange warning light on an Xbox. . .

i had one of those power cords that eventually fried my power supply on my xbox. I heard buzzing and zapping coming from where the power cord plugs in like you wouldnt believe. thank god i was home when it fried cuz i used to leave my box on all the time.
Anyway I just got a new cord, and put a new power supply in properly, but the orange warning light is still flashing. What else could've been damaged by frying the power supply? Or what other things would cause that light to come on? this is strange, i thought i was finally gonna get to play halo again today, im gonna cry.

so given i just put a perfectly fine power supply in, and replaced the cord, my xbox is fried? I couldnt find whether or not the fact that my cd tray wont close properly would make the orange light come on.

OH YEA, its the CD tray. when it fried i had to pop it open w/a screwdriver to give my friend his game back. . .Well now i gotta figure out a way to fix the locking mechanism in the Tray. Mothereffer this is gonna be a bitch. . .my xbox is in MANY pieces. . .but ill get to the bottom of this lol

you can replace the xbox drive for about 50 bucks.

this guy is reputable and has lots of instructions on how to replace and repair parts on your xbox. :smile:
