So damn sore from my new job

I got a 2nd job since my hours were cut at my first one and I would like to make a little extra cash. I unload trucks at 5:30 in the morning then work freight. I'm so fucking sore from yesterday morning it isn't even cool. Don't think I'll be able to get out and play some disc golf today (it was 50 degrees here yesterday!!) :thumbdown: I need some weed real bad.

I remember when I had a job that I always came home aching from.

I worked at a store that sells vehicle batteries. Now, lifting a battery off the shelf for a customer isn't all that bad, the heaviest ones only weigh about 100 pounds, which isn't much trouble with two hands. But the real backbreaker was that we also collected used batteries from the public, and then stacked them 4 high on pallets to be taken to a recycling center to reprocess the lead cores. Now, think of two dense substances. Chances are you think of water, and lead. Now think of having to, in one day, stack 3 pallets of large objects full of lead and water.

One particularly productive day, I moved 5,000 pounds of old junk batteries from under the awning behind the shop up onto pallets a few feet away. This is with nothing but my hands and a hook to grip them with. The acid also ruined my shirt (riddled it with holes).

Thankfully, I don't do that anymore. I hated that work.

When I came home I felt as sore as if I had just had rough gay sex with King Kong.

Its funny how much I used to loathe that job, loading trucks in the early morning. But now, its almost like zen for me. I have so much shit on my mind w/ school and bills and all this other bullshit, that when I can get in my truck and all I have to worry about for the next 5 or 6 hours is how to fit all these boxes together to they take up the least amount of space, its nice.

It probably sounds funny. But I've been doing it for 4 years now while I've been in school, and its my quiet time every day. I can just put on my headphones and do some hard physical work for awhile. I feel funny if I dont work for a few days.....

Well, I got some mids from my dealer and when I took off I almost called him back because I seriously thought he gave me a bag of dank instead. After inspecting it for 5 minutes I finally found a bean and forgot about it. This shit is so crystally, green, and smelly it's off the hook.

Smoked some and it loosened me up a little bit. Then I went disc golfing and now my arms are sore again.

And I'd have to agree with you on that one madtown. Time flies so fast at that job and then I get off around 2 and have the rest of the day for whatever. It kicks ass.

ya i really love my hours. work from 3am-9am then go to school. it is hard physical work but I've kinda been in a "workout craze" lately and its really stress reliving. plus everyone i work with smokes which is a plus i guess even though i don't smoke all that much anymore.

I know how it is man.  All my jobs I've ever had give me this feeling when I come home from work.  You adjust.

Like buddy said earlier, you'll learn to love it.  Only having to think about that.  It's good to have a physical job sometimes I think.  Healthy for the mind.

I've loaded/unloaded trucks at a Byers Transport, early in the morning.  It was one of my nicer jobs.  It would be quite a shitter when a huge trailer of assorted tires would come in and we'd have to sort the trailer out and handbomb these tires onto pallets, shrink wrapping them.

I'll toke one for you bud.  Your body will adjust after long enough.  Cheers to a fellow physical labourer  :cool:
