ive downloaded a few tv shows but every time i go to play them in WMP it says that there is a codec error. ive tried playing them with quicktime and realplayer but nothing. can someone tell me how to play them, pretty please

Lots of times they are in Xvid or Divx

search for those codecs, or download VLC media player. Tahat player is always good for those types of things

Yes, DivX is your best bet.

I have videos that wouldn't play in winamp, Quick Time or Windows Media Player. Then I downloaded DivX and they played. It seems like the most versatile video player you should try downloading it and then trying to play those shows:

Seems like a really good program I might even make it my default media player.
