I've noticed that coffee is almost always better in shabby diners and places that evoke little expectation.

I'm having instant Thai for lunch. A small hiatus from sushi.  :grin:

Cuban food is by far the best Hispanic food right up there with mexican food :thumbup:

Doesnt look like authentic Cuban they got the right idea but someones messing with the ingredients like "long grain rice"??

That sounds good.

But my parents went to Cuba, and they were saying the food sucked. It was like, a piece of unseasoned meat, and some boiled vegetables.

Tilapia is a decent fish, and cheap, I'm suprised I don't see it around more. Very mild, like cod or something, but versatile. I usually keep a bag of tilapia filets in the freezer so I can fry it up with some onions, peppers, lemon juice and beer when I'm out of other stuff.

That sounds so unlike Cuban food its no even funny. they season everything excessively with Adobo and salt
