yeahsecond UJB blew my mind
this new line up really takes some riskes
several times they would drop the entire groove and just let it fly away
then they would just bust right back ino it
they did this with fire and i nearly exploded :laugh:

larry cambel was kick ass too, his guitar style melds with phil , much faster rock and rollyer rythem

the crowed as a bit on the older ide with alot of people who looked like they had no idea where they where
that was the jhon mayer factor;)
ill will tell you this though, i will never look at that guy the same again

HELLA_TIGHT, take less acid next time, not more. You expressed in another thread that you prefer to "lose your shit," but I'm having my doubts. Unpredictable events are easier to handler on lower doses.

As far as live recordings go, check bt.etree.org first. After a few weeks, Phil will release the official soundboard to www.archive.org. I'd expect to see something on bt.etree.org soon.

great looking set-list, though. some friend of robot's said she saw phil and friends play three nights somehwere on the east-coast just recently (i can't remember where...) and that they played damn good shows. i'd agree with blissed when he praises (albeit unexpectedly) joan osborne - she played with the Dead @ bonnaroo 2003, didn't she?

I took 3 hits, but it never really kciked in at quite the level I expected. It was 10:30 at night by the time the acid finally kicked in, so I felt like it was too late too take anymore. I almost ate an 1/8th of mushrooms in addition though, but I just decided to save it for another time. Either way, the show was by far the best Dead show I've been too. The jams were simply amazing and the New Year's countdown was out of this world. The scary ambient music they played and the fire that was bursting from the ground really kicked up my trip a couple notches. Nonetheless, if I could do her over again I would've taken a fourth hit.

The only issue I had with the show was that the acoustics and overall sound quality was shitty as usual, but this was expected becsuse I've seen shows there before. I like how the band seemed to correct this problem by lowering the overall volume of the jams while Joan sang.

I also was expecting John Mayer to play some truly awesome solos and he did just that. I'm glad to see that he is expanding his horizons as a truly talented musician.
