Disc Golf

Anybody here play?

I picked up the sport around Thanksgiving..and I love playing.

There are so many things I like about it. Not just because it's fun to play...but also the way it facilitates social interaction.

Plus any excuse to get outside and be in nature is always good.

There's my basket I got for Xmas. It's a DGA basket that breaks down easily for transport.

I've been playing for about 3 years. Next year I'm going to start playing tournies around here and hopefully win myself some cool shit. Then after a little while playing Am I'll move up to pro. Some day I may tour the midwest doing pro events, but that's probably a while down the road. When the weather is nice I play every single day I can, usually multiple courses per day. You're lucky being in a warm state you get to play year round. If i want to play now I have to freeze my ass off and contend with feet of snow :thumbdown:

Yeah man disc golf's the shit, me and my brother played it all over- I think the best course's are in Cali. We've entered comp's n-stuff to, I think the best thing's about it are- Every coure's has something diffrent to it, get to be in the wood's,  and most of all if you have a disc- the shit's FREE!! great game. :thumbup: :thumbup: :grin:

when i was in CO we played almost everyday this summer.. 2or3 games a day..

i'm decent. never shot under par in singles.. but shot -5 in teams...

definately nowhere near pro.. i just like to go huck a disc.

I started playing just past summer. I was just looking for something fun to do outside and get active when I noticed I had developed a nice beer gut. Just by playing 3-5 times a week on a mile long course I lost five lbs off my gut. Its fun I just try to enjoy myself

Ultimate is such a good sport. Same with disc golf.

Gotta watch out for the tall grass when playing golf though. Spent many hours looking disc's before. :thumbdown:

looking for the discs can be the hardest part. I think it's one of the most challenging parts of the game.

i look at disc golf as like primitive hunting turned into a game almost. searching for the disc is like searching for some small game you killed by throwing something at it....and then of course you get better on your aim the more you play.

the sport seems really good for mental health.

A small headshop near me, "high expectations" has a HUGE selection of discs, I bought a disccraft elite XTRA driver there about a year ago but I only really used it once, and I dented a fender on a toyota matrix..
so now I use it as a budtray.

i use to go play frolf everyday for years... i practiacally lived at the one by my house one summer. fun shit
