there are blacks so dark they look blueish, in the sun or purpleish..it is just a sun effect..i have seen and met a few..very dark colored people..seen them so what? we are all human.. :smirk:

Not ones that use the method that I think is called CVD. A small company is making diamonds that are near impossible to tell if they are artificial. DeBeers, surprise surprise, has launched a vicious PR attack against the notion of artificial diamonds and is pouring assloads of money into technology that can distinguish artificial from real diamonds.


Another thing that DeBeers doesn't want the public to know is that diamonds are actually one of the most abundant gemstones on the planet. If they were sold for a price that was representative of their rarity it would be like 2 dollars a carat. But since they have such a strangle hold on the market they can make prices whatever they want. My geology professor told our class that there are places in China where you can buy diamonds for practically nothing from street vendors.
