Problems with Flash 8.0

hey folks!

i wanted to take a look at weebls-stuff the other day and had to install the macromadia flash player 8.0 to look at the page...
so i did but something must have gone wrong because now i can't look at flash animations at all anymore... it says "done" in the status bar, but the space where the animation is supposed to go just stays blank... it has to have something to do with firefox, too, because when i start windows in my other user account everything works fine (that account obviously has another firefox profile)...
any suggestions? ideas? what did i do wrong?

While we're on the subject of flash. Ya know those flash movies you see on some sites, I wanted to download one of them so went into the source and found the URL and downloaded it expecting it to work but it didn't.

Is there anyway I can watch this video offline?
