Hi, I have been asked by several people, recently Ncubensis to repost the maps to Mexican mushroom locations. So here goes in three posts the 16 pages extracted from the monograph by Big D. I originally posted these at Spiritplants, who later failed to reopen their gallery and their shroom Id section and then at the now defunct Drooldonkey. So here goes. sorry about the large size.

Thanks MJ. Your are a rescource man. I noticed a diagram of male/female shroomies. What's up with that. I thought all shrooms are neither male/female, but mating types +/-. If so could you elaborate. Joshua

Hello Joshua, I asked that same question when mj first posted these. The answer came up being that there are no male and female mushrooms. There are however male and female mushroom Spores.. =)

Bel9ow is th3e report from Wasson himself cioncerning the male and female mushrooms. This is used by Mazatec and other tribal groups of indegenous peoples living in the high Sierra Mazateca range in Oaxaca and surrounding areas. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx From Maria Sabina. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX The velada would begin in total darkness so the visions would be bright and clear. After the mushrooms were adorned and blessed by Mar?a Sabina, she would slowly pass each one through the swirling smoke of burning Copal incense. The mush-rooms are always consumed in pairs of two, signifying, one male, one female. Each participant in a ceremony consumes five to six pairs; though more will be given if requested. Because the spiritual energies of the "sabia" would always dominate the velada, Mar?a Sabina would normally consume twice as many mushrooms as her voyagers, sometimes up to twelve pairs. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Mj. Hey GGreatOne234, WHere did youever come up with the spores are male and female? Aren't they are actually asexual?

The two genetically distinct haploid nuclei within the hyphal strand must undergo fusion (Karyogomy) to form a zygote, undergo meiosis and mitosis to form the spores. This is a sexually reproductive process. The spores themselves are haploid and plasmogomy is a asexual process. The fusion of monokaryons ( compatible mating types) results in a dikaryon. But the nuclei do not fuse for the most part. Exceptions do occur. Parasexualism. Old texts and multi-discipline texts like Plant Pathology, can and do still refer to different monokaryons as being male and female. Though it is a bad habit. Homothallic fungus are sometimes referred to as being hermaphroditic.

Mj, I remember asking that question to the Shroom Wizard.. - the question was of course prompted from your posting of this mexican shroomer manual. He replied saying that the actual mushroom "fruit" is neither male of female, but the spores are male and female. It confused me, but from what Maria is saying is that eating two shrooms "Signifies" one for Male and one for the Female. - - Utmost respect to her, but it doesnt seem very scientific But, i usually eat two shrooms at a time, so, u tell me :) Keep shroomin, G Oh and i think that i might mention to you that it is Christmas, merry christmas and holidaze 2 u mj. + And Annie & i collected well over 100 Copelandia cyanescens just yesterday. No cubes. Shroom on, GG
