I need one more thing to extract mescaline, but can't find Red Devil Lye anywhere!

And I just heard that it's been discontinued anyway...something about meth labs or some nonsense like that.  So what's another source of lye I can safely use for my cactus extraction?  :frown:

For a matter of semantics,so as no misunderstanding arises in people searching this forums for knowledge or for no "myths" to be created : The title would me more appropriate if instead of "make" you used the word "extract". Mescaline is made in the plant and any procedure followed such as a/b extraction ,simply extracts this material,it doesnt make it. (It may seem insignificant as a note ,but i have seen many posts using the word "make" instead of "extract" and i dont know how wil this "echo" in the future :laugh: )

Now for the question...Im not aware of this product since its not available in my country at least under this name. What you could do is ask for Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) at a chemical supply house. In small quantities its certainly not suspicious,since this base alongside with hydrochloric acid (HCl) are something any chemistry lab requires to have,the preffered base and the preffered acid!

Personally i preffer those supplies,sometimes its best to have some materials in the purest lab-grade form available!

There are some "PH DOWN" fish tank additives that are a solution of just NaOH and deionized water. Similarly there are some "PH UP" additives for fish tanks are a solution of just sulfuric acid and deionized water.
