100% humidity not good?
    #484322 -

With birthed cakes...

Is 100% humidity not as good as 95%?

I've just birthed a few cakes in a clear rubbermaid with a perlite bottom. It's a solid 100% all the time. So far it looks good, (couple days), but somewhere I've seen something about 100% being not ideal.

Fill me in

I think 100% is ok but a little less is best...
Such as 95.. no reason why, but ive also read that.

If it is to humid mycelium fuzz will apear in little spots on the mushroom caps, also the ass end of the fruit will get extra fuzzy.

carbonhoots,%100 is good/ideal for cakes/pf-tek, but no good for casing. Cakes are 'bare' and do not have the microclimate/resivoir that a casing provides, therefor they get most of their moisture from the air. Casings do better with less humidity because the casing 'layer' provides the miroclimate needed. Although I have fruited casings just fine in high humidity conditions too.
