i cannot fucking walk
    #487246 - 12/11/01 10:18 AM (23 years, 2 months ago)

2 grams tops of azures, chewed, put in tea, smoked a little (very tasty) what a great trip but....my legs rebel against me, tried going out for smokes an hour ago and it aint werkin...i have heard of paralysis, temporary, resulting from eating way too much..btw, i am 31 and i could walk fine yesterday. i am reminded of my friend in the early stages of M.S., legs giving out . Update, 36 hours after the trip, i can walk 4 blocks at once : ) legs are sore as hell, no more tea! chewing is good..

yeah, sometimes it's permanent you know... i might be kidding also. Nevermind, your trip is telling your brain not to use your legs, don't fight it if you can't really stand, you'll be in control again soon.

Peace,

I had that exact thing happen with cyans last year in February. Had a pretty good dose ingested by making tea. AFTER the trip was over, I gradually but progressively lost ALL use and control of my muscles. I literally could not walk, lift my head, move my arms, etc.

EXTREMELY scary, and only happened when I made tea. Eating them didn't have the same result. I haven't tripped since and am kinda leery of it even though I've found a bunch more cyans this season. I will probably muster up enough guts to trip again by eating, but DAMN that was truly, truly scary and I won't ever make tea again.

Check out my post titled "play by play trip on 7 grams azures" Under off topic discussion. I had very simular experiences with azures. I've heard of stories w/ cyans too. I will stick to the cubes from now on.

Wow, those are pretty scarey tales.

It seems strange that of so many people on the board hunting cyans and azures, only a couple have claimed a similar experience so far. 7 dried grams of azures may be...good god...a serious headfull, but 2 grams has to be common.

Some Guy, how much of the cyans did you take? Where'd they come from, anyway?

This is not an uncommon occurance at all, I remember reading something where Paul Stamets mentions that some people who ingest Ps. azurescens report loss of muscular control and temporary paralysis of the limbs. Due to the close relationship between azures and cyans, I wouldn't be at all suprised to hear of this happening with cyans as well.

When I happened to me, I took maybe about 2.5 or 3 grams of dried and cut up cyans made into tea with a tea ball. Again, never happened before with just eating - only with tea. I'm curious if there's a heat reaction component at work there. Also, it was my first season hunting and I'd found a bunch of cyans so was dosing at least once a week for about two and a half months. Maybe a build-up in the system also, I dunno. Freaked me out good, though. So much so that I haven't dosed since and have some award winning cyans from this season all dried out and ready to roll.

yeah, LK, Paul mentioned that at the last mycological society meeting in Oakland, California. I wouldn't ever mess with more than 1 gram of azures...1.4 grams of cyans was insane and a little overwhelming for someone with average tolerance...

LK - Yeah, Stamets does mention that in MMOW. Going on just the limited slice o' life that we see here, though, it IS uncommon. Lots of people on the board pick cyans, especially, and also azures, but there are only ~3 reports of this kind that I'm aware of in the few years (off/on) i've been lurking.

Some Guy - thanks.

well shit. only had that happen to me on some really depressing cubies I ate a few years ago. ate an eighth, wated an hour, felt nothing, smoked 1/2 an eighth and ate another 1/2 eighth.lost all muscle control for probably 2 hours. I was tripping alone and it sucked. I have exceeded 10 grams dry of azures(dont ask why) and 7 dry for cyans, and havent had anything remotely the same happen to me. and tea is the only way that I go with the cyans and azures. have you heard of baeos causing respritory problems, besides the 1 misnomer report of a child fatality? maybve it is related to the baeocystin content?
