Hey, ive got 13 quart jars of some PE colonizing some WBS, with which I will be trying bulk for the first time. I was wondering how much of the tenn stud pre-past. poo would be needed for a sorda large tub that has a volume of 68.1L or 18 gal. Ive seen some people say one 5lb bag but the tenn stud website says one 5lb bag only does 12in x 12in x 4in. Also would i need to used 6 quart jars on each tub or would 4 quart jars work. TIA

I use 2 quarts spawn per 5 pounds of poo.

do it by spawn ratio. 13 quarts is about a half of a cubic foot, and u should try for a 1:4 ratio, so u can use 2 cubic feet of poo....which would be 30 lbs of poo.

If its one of those 18 gallon rubbermaid tubs youll need exactly 7.5lbs (wet) to get a 4in depth. AFOAF used 2 quarts for spawn but 3 will be evn faster IMO. good luck. :stoned: :mushroom2:

Hey thanks to everyone who replied, yeah its the 18 gallon rubbermade one, i think ill be able to make 4 then if all goes well, I'm going to order the 20lb of pre-past. poo, and get the buy 2 get one free shroomery deal.

12 1/2" x 9" container will take 5 lbs of substrate.
with a depth of aprox. 4"

measure out your container and order what you need.

I use 3 quarts of colonized WBS per 5 lbs of substrate...
you can get away with using 2 quarts.
I like using 3 quarts...because it colonizes faster.
Faster colonization = less chances of contams.

I would suggest using smaller containers...rather than using one large one.
It's like having all your chickens in one basket...
If you get contams...you lose it all.
