Is cob web dangerous ?
    #480516 - 12/05/01 08:50 AM (23 years, 2 months ago)

I suspect cob web is starting to grow on a cake (looks like tiny white "sticks" are growing in some places, not close to each other). I'm far from being sure that's cob web, I've never seen any except on pics. I've harvested all my shrooms today. I don't think it's cobweb, but it may be (I let my cakes in the terrarium to see what will happen). Would it be dangerous eating these shrooms if it were cobweb ? (low dose)

I've eaten fruits off of cobweb infected casings without ill effects. Your "sticks" sound like rhizomorphic growth, not cobweb.

When cobweb gets to a shroom, you'll know about it because the shroom will rot very quickly. Anything rotting ought not to be consumed.
