I found it on Kazaa, so you might want to take a look there. It's by far my favorite Hendrix video except for maybe the one of his last song at his last concert ever.

I really like this video, it makes me feel so cool to be a smoker :smile:

It was some song I'm unfamiliar with that seemed to turn into a jam thing. The oddest thing was the clothes Jimi was wearing and his hair style. He was wearing this skin tight red jump suit thing with huge bell bottoms and platform shoes. It was a show from Paris and everything he was saying after the song was in subtitles in french.

It was really was quite awesome. He seemed kind of out of it too like he was upset or something.

I'll see if I can find it again.

Edit: Yeah found it, the file name is "Jimi Hendrix Last Concert at the Isle of Wight" Search for Jimi Henrdix Last Concert on Kazaa.

I don't recognize the song but it's pretty awesome and really 70s in the beginning before it generates into a typical Hendrix jam.

Edit Edit: I just looked up the lyrics online and it's a song called "In from the storm" and you can totally tell he's on something through the whole thing. Judging by the way he's moving his jaw around, I'm guessing coke.  :grin:

Oh yeah, I've seen some of the Isle Of Wight show. I either didn't know it was the last show, or forgot. I'll check it out sometime.

I think you are right. He was jumping out of airplanes at the time, or around that time. But him and Billy Cox were army buddies back then so who knows, maybe there is an old recording of him taken from some rundown tavern were they had a gig. But I doubt it.

Here is an interesting story about Jimi and Billy Cox that you all have probably never heard of.

Here in Indianapolis, on Indiana Avenue, is an old theatre called the Madam Walker Arts Center. Back in the mid 60's it was a basicaly an African-American jazz club. The biggest in town. They used to have a Battle of the Bands contest every so often, so Jimy and Billy Cox drove up here from there base on a weekend pass. They had no money, and just enough gas to get up here. But they were so confident that they would win they gave no attention to that. To make a long story short, they didn't win the contest and had to sit in their out of gas car for 2 days, in the freezing cold, with nothing to eat but frozen chili. Their girlfriends finaly came up to rescue them before they would be reported as being AWOL.

They ran this story in one of the free weekly newspapers about a year ago. It had interviews with some people who were in attendence that night. Jimi actualy went outside on the sidewalk and played out there during a song when his band was still on stage. He was ahead of his time, the people knew he was talented, but just didnt know what to make of him. And they lost the contest.

I love the mental picture of him and Billy Cox sitting in their car for nearly 2 days, freezing their asses off, eating frozen chili, waiting for their girlfriends to come and get them.

has anyone seen live at royal albert hall part 2? and the start is him sitting on a bed with some groopies, and a guy says "she's thirsty, give her some acid!" after a few mins it goes back to the concert, was wondering if anyone has the full footage of jimi playing accoustic on that bed?

Ambulances are called to the Samarkand Hotel in London, where Jimi is found unconscious, having vomited in his sleep. The ambulance-men are unable to revive him. He is taken to St. Mary Abbot's Hospital, where he is officially pronounced dead just after midday.

28 Septemer 1970
At a London inquest, the coroner instructs the jury to return an open verdict on Hendrix's death, which is blamed on "inhalation of vomit due to barbiturate intoxication".

1 October 1970
James Marshall Hendrix is buried in Greenwood Cemetary, Renton, Seattle.


I'd REALLY love to have some audio or video of his performance with Eric Burton on September 16th or 17th.
