i think i fucked my computer up

My lap top cannot find the hard drive.
Any suggestions?

I am not that stupid, but thanks. Its a lap ntop its charges, and it cannot find my hard drive, I'm at school, so I don't have any disks with me. I will first try the windows boot disk to see if i can recognize my harddrive that way.

My computer couldn't find the A drive awhile back. Oh well, it was shitty anyway.

What OS are you using?
How far does it get in the boot sequence?
Have you tried a boot disk?

What do you mean by `can`t find the hard drive`?

If it really can`t find the hard drive, the computer won`t be able to boot, and you`ll likely get a message along the lines of No Operating System Found.

What exactly happens when you turn it on? What are the error messages?
