loph seedlings tall and slender

The seeds came from a reputable source.

I may have reptile pad problems because the only seeds
germinating in a 72 compartment tray are the ones on the
outside edges, either because the center is too hot or
it got too dry during germination.

The ones that have sprouted are growing tall and slender,
could this because of too much heat or is my light source
inadequate?

I'm currently using a small 12" two-tube flouro fixture.

Thoughts?

move those flouros closer, maybe get another one to spread out the light if your seed bed is large.

I'm adding spacers underneath the tray and mounting more
lights in the compartment to see what effect this has.

how long after sprouting before it's safe to expose these
gems to open air and indirect light?

how long should seedlings be kept in a humid environ?

Have they started to sprout the hairs yet? If not that its normal for the stem to elongate.

Normaly i would imagine in the wild seeds to blow into cracks. When they get moistened they stay safe and sprout in the crack. So id also imagine they need to elongate a bit as to reach for the sun a bit. I notice that seedling hight would be around 1/4 of an inch normaly, for quite some time.
