can you at least take some pics so we can know what we are talking about?

i don't know why one loph would grow faster than the others, it's not something that i have seen personally.
is it on steroids?

That algae looks vicious, you may want to take that off.

As far as size differences I have a bunch of loph seedlings atm as well as peruvianus, pachanoi, spachinanus, and astrophytum ornatum and cacti in general seem to have very varying growth rates as seedlings. All my lophs are about a month old and range from match head size to half that, and i have some stragglers that are just starting to come up.

Yeah,I was gong to say something too.I would repot them,so they don't rot.that's a pretty moist environment for cacti.

Maybe it'll turn out wacky and deformed, that's always a plus in the cacti world right?

I would have to say that the super loph is actually just normal sized and the others are falling behind. At least thats how it looks to me. That algea is crazy, looks like you could scoop it up and spread it on a sandwich. Maybe its too wet in there and the other lophs have stalled because of it. Anyway, the big loph looks 4 months old to me, and I would suggest grafting the other seedlings if you want them to keep growing.

cacti=variable  you many notice in 5 years time you have some double the size of others.  just happens.  good ones to keep to breed though   fast "genes", if its even that, can become something useful a few crosses down the road.

it's nothing unusual.
sprinkle a layer of sand around your seedlings, that should get rid of the algae.
