How difficult does extraction have to be? Is it really hard or can it be done in a kitchen with chemicals readily available from the store?

I don't mean to sound retarded, I'm not, I guess I'm just curious how long it takes on average, what kind of yield could one reasonably expect from an average kilo, and can you get decent experiences from less than ultra-pure product?

I want to do it right, but I don't want to screw up and end up with nothing.....is there a "tried and true" tek?

this method takes a month while this one off www.dmtworld.com called something like how to easily extract dmt or something like that takes a week. im going to be attemping the one in the first link.

o yeah the bottom one off dmt world makes about 2 1/2 grams dmt out of 1 pound bark

you want dmt freebase? afoaf hasn't had much luck getting to it, as he has found the teks for getting pure crystal are rather complicated compared to the following procedure (for getting dirty HCl salts suitable for consuming orally):

a friend of a friend has had excellent luck using an acidified water rough extraction tek that he adapted from experience in an organic chemistry lab. basically he got a lot of stinky tar, that is consumed with an maoi for 3-6hrs of dmt-space. the same procedure was used to extract the magic from caapi vine as well as psychotria viridis leaf and mimosa hostilis root bark-

simmer enough water to cover plant material (pulverized, shredded, made as finely ground as possible) and add something to lower the pH. my friend of a friend used muriatic acid (if you use it be careful, and only add a tiny amount) you can also use lemon juice or vinegar. simmer for 45 minutes, strain the water to another pot through a cloth (t-shirt works well) and repeat the process 2-4 times. 3's the charm. collect all the water and reduce by evaporation until you get a nasty sludge, put it in a pyrex dish and evaporate it in the oven at 275?F. let it sit in the open for a few hours to get the last of the water out and scrape it up. it will be dark red or purple to blackish. measure your final yield and determine dosage by ratios of your original materials.

my friend of a friend found that 150g of viridis leaf was enough for 5-7 good tickets to hyperspace along with the equivalent of 30-40g of caapi extracted. waaaaaaay better to take it as tar than as ayahuasca- no purging, more efficient use of the stuff. take less, get more.

feel free to substitute syrian rue for caapi, but keep in mind that some people find rue to be hard on the body. caapi's damn expensive though.

DMT can be extracted from out-of-the-package m. hostilis bark in less than two days. Using warm solvents, learning how to operate a seperatory funnel, learning how to mix polar and non polar layers without creating an emulsion, if you get all of those down pretty well, it's a fairly easy extraction. One step further than Vovins DMT Extraction Guide that I'd usually recommend is is a cold water filtering and vacuum drying of the crystals. Put your DMT crystals in a coffee filter and pour ice cold water over them. Just about a cup full to get all of the residual lye and other impurities out. Then let them dry in the filter, scrape it off and smoke.

Thanks for the info guys, looks like it gets a liitle hairy, but not impossible.

Snyder, how's the oral experience? I've smoked a bit before, but never
broke through. This was many years ago, I didn't know what it was and the guy I got it from said "take a couple hits and see how you feel".
Not the most detailed advice...

Freebase is probably how I'd like to go however....

Didn't mention how much he took did he? You guys think weed would facilitate or hinder the experience? How about music? Would you be too far away to know it was playing? Ahh! too many questions!

I don't think you need to put any weed in there at all. I certainly would go for the straight dmt.

Regarding the amount in that report: many people who didn't extract themselves, and just bought it or got from a friend aren't going to have a milligram scale. With some drugs, that could mean certain doom. With DMT, while preferred, many people just smoke a hit or two (or three) and if it's a proper freebasing device, you should just get resolidified crystal. This report isn't specific, but it seems like he's just smoking it out of a marijuana pipe, applying the lighter to it. This makes me even less inclined to believe he weighed it.

Someone recently posted their picture of DMT they bought in OTD. It was 3 bags of what looked like oregano. Surely enough, it's apparently sold to some mixed in with an herb so it's smokable using familliar methods. Sounds also like a way to over charge, but that's just my opinion.

That's how i got it years ago...in a clear box on some parsley or something.  Seems kind of nutty to "wing it".

Seems like you need to know a good coke dealer--he's have the milligram scale and the crackpipe! :cool:

Ingesting it is excellent. The MAOI contributes a bit to the character of the experience, but the sensory changes are astounding, thought is light-speed, all the while feet are still on the ground (at reasonable levels). If it's not doing it for you, eat some more! Small starting doses aren't wasted as they are when smoked, they just form the base of the dose.
