This is something i'd like to do some day, just because the mere thought of falling out of a plane scares the shit out of me. I don't know why, but like for the past week i've been obsessed thinking about skydiving.
When you jump out of the plane, you have to somehow convince yourself that you're not jumping to your death. Or maybe the key is to realize that you ARE jumping to your death but you have a chance of surviving if you manage to pull the rip cord. So your entire life rests on the function of a properly-packed parachute.
I wonder if anyone's died from skydiving, not because their chute didn't deploy but because they had a heart attack while falling...?

I wouldn't mind it, not that the urge is overwhelming. I would prefer to try basejumping.

Everyone worries about the shute not opening....Believe me fellas - I would get that motherfucker open or die trying.
You should go for it - I would imagine it to be the biggest thrill that life can offer. (As in your own if you can't manage to get the damn shute open)

The scariest part is the paperwork and video you have to watch before going up in a tin can of a plane then leaping out.
The second you drop out of the plane you will drop any and all issues about what will happen. You realize at that point, its just to late to worry.
I did it for my 21st bday. I highly recommend it to anyone.

i thought you don't get to jump alone until you've had some experience. so for your first time, you'd be tandem with a pro. not positive on all company's policies and though..

You can jump alone, but your first jumps will be at a lower altitude with a rip cord attached. Not many companies will do this though.
My first time was for my 22 birthday. Tandem at 13,000 feet. It is a blast. I guess if you but all your own gear right off the bat you could go base jumping to begin with. But i reccomend going through instruction before you take on base jumping. This is a technical sport, and when your jumping off of a cliff or bridge or building you may want a little experience on how to pack your chute and proper form.
Also good equipment is going to run around 8 grand.

iv been indoor skydiving before, and id suggest doing that before jumping out of a plane, that way ur not falling and have no idea how to steady ur self. when i went indoor, it was really hard, u have to position ur arms and feet just right otherwise ur just going to be flippin in circles. but yea id love to go skydiving someday, if i could get the money id defiantly try that shit

Well, whatever melts your butter. Have fun with it! Personally, there's just no way in hell I'm ever going to jump out of a perfectly good airplane.....

i went before. it was the most fucking amazing thing in the world, i actually went 2 months ago.
nothing compares to the rush you get of jumping out of a plane doing 125mph and clearing 500ft in a minute.

This is on my list of things to do in the near future. I am going to do it shrooming for my first time. Only because im an idiot, I prolly wouldn't reccomend this to other people. I still am trying to talk someone into doing it with me, I'm friends with some crazy bastards. One of em will break down soon and agree lol.
