From Maui With Love (and Pics!)

It's a Aloha Friday! Hope all is treating the shroomerites well for this weekend. Agrfulchick and I are loving the sunny shores of Maui. Here are some of our pictures to show you all what an amazing place this is. Cheers to the pub :beer:



Big Beach... literally. The largest beach on Maui, also the last beach along the south shore. The resorts havent' made it this far south, leaving the surrounding area undeveloped.


There is a 1000' high waterfall back there. From this viewpoint, it is supposedly only a mile away, but that's a mile through dense rainforest without much of a trail, at least a full-day's hike there and back.


A rainbow appeared in our neighborhood last week.

Here is our friendly house gecko. He comes out almost every night and runs around our living room, hopefully eating the bugs  :-)


Some type of fungus found growing on a downed tree during one of our hikes.

The above two photos were taken from the remote wilderness area inside the crater of Haleakala, the large volcano that makes up most of Maui. It is a National Park. The volcano itself is over 10,000 feet high, but we were down around 7500' in the crater bottom.

The view of the sun setting behind the West Maui Mountains. This picture was taken from our roof, which is has a two-level built atop the house. We like to end our days up here with a glass of wine.

Yup, we do indeed live here. We may move at some point, but for the next few years at least, we'll be living it up in paradise  :grin: Those of you who are super-cool friends of ours are welcome and encouraged to come visit, with free camping on our roof instead of staying at an expensive resort :wink: As you can see from some of the photos, we have a pretty cool roof!
