now while this may be an overly technical solution to the humidity problem, i'd really like to see something on a humidistat to control a humidifier OTHER than the one at fungi.com - i.e. low cost. perlite just seems to over-humidify, and ya get bacterial pit or trichoderma all over yer casing.
ive found several humidistats online, but theyre mainly for use in a house to keep condensation off the windows or whatnot. so the question is, does anyone know of a humidistat that would work to turn on a cool mist or ultrasonic humidifier when the humidity gets above or below a certain range appropriate for mushroom growth? (78-84%)

wired it up to a cool mist..
works great!!

yeah, but thats like 125 dollars. i was hopin to put together something for like 30-40, thats what home humidistats go for... unfortunately they never seem to go above 65% or so

I don?t use any additional humidification with my casings except the water that evaporates from the casing surface.
Dump out the perlite.
