"interstate trafficking"

Are there really additional laws applied against someone if they send or receive illegal drugs via UPS or FedEx to another state?
How about if driving or flying in an airplane?

Yes, it is a separate offense to import drugs into a state. It is also a separate Federal offense to send drugs through the mail or a similar carrier service such as UPS.

Yep, transporting or mailing across state lines will win you some time in a federal prison.

I thought that if you mailed something with no return address that it was safe?

they can claim that you are actually interfereing with "interstate drug trade" i read an article online that there was this lady growing weed in CA and she was not dealing or anything. It was all used for personal consumption, howeveer she would mail it to her friends for free (NOT SELLING IT) and they busted her for "interfering with interstate drug trade". Basically saying bc she was giving it for free by the mail, she was not doing the way she should have been doing it.....selling it via the mail so that she could get busted for interstate drug charges. lol so wierd.
