Black pin mold?

Can someone show me a pic of and/or describe black pin mold.
Some guy told me he has a jar that had a bunch of big spore clusters squirted into it. Tiny, jet black dots were on top of the mycellium when it began to form. apx 7 days later, he noticed one of these black spots on the uncolonized top dry layer of vermic and isn't sure if it was there before. It doesn't seem to be spreading though. Should he birth it in an isolated terrarium? Throw it out? Does black pin mold smell and is it harmful to inhale? The jar looks so good otherwise..
Sorry he doesn't have a digital camera.
