shroom sickness??

i know there have been a million posts about what to do about nausea on shrooms... blah blah. however, i have never heard anything about the problem i have been having. i had eaten shrooms a few times (no more than an eighth at a time) and not experienced that much nausea. usually i could just smoke and forget about it. the last two times i got so sick i thought i was going to die. which is NOT fun when you are tripping. so my problem is that i can't puke. this is sort of gross, but i get these deep retching gags, and even if i have stuff in my stomach, i can't puke. the last time i seriously thought i was poisoned, i thought that there was some weird bacteria growing on them or something. i thought i was going to die, and i seriously considered having someone knock me out or something so i wouldn't have to feel any pain anymore. this was off half an eighth! ridiculous! so, i'm going to try tea next time, hopefully that will help. but does anyone have any idea what is causing this? it sucks! if i have to give up shrooming, i'm going to be very upset. please help.

I believe most sickness is caused by improper drying.. Is iit possible both sick trips came from the same batch?

i wish the answer were that easy. no, the shrooms were from two totally different batches. in fact, one time it was cyanescens and the last time it was cubensis.

i think egoless is right..sometimes when you dont dry them to where they are cracker dry the excess water allows bacteria to grow on the mushrooms..causing the gut rot..or at least that has been my theory.the only time ive been sick from mushrooms is when i bought them once and they were really potent mushrooms but you could tell they werent all the way dry by the smell..the smell is a sign of bacteria.

Unless you have been eating fresh mushrooms, I believe tea would make you sick also..Tea shocks the system faster for a stonger shorter trip..Sometimes cooking mushrooms lowers the bad effects of mushrooms, usually associated with raw consumption..If none of this helps, I would try to evaluate any changes between the good trips and the last 2 sick trips...Eating habits, cultivation or curing changes, medications ect. I don't think you will have to stop taking mushrooms due to the fact you were tripping with no problems before. Although allergies can manifest over time, I doubt this is the case..Also, it is possible the first bad trip was legitimate, but in turn caused the second one due to the anxiety and fear of the bad trip going into the next one... Backtrack the history and let us know something........

well, i wish it were all just in my head, but i really don't think any of this is psychological. i am really good at talking myself out of bad trips, and believe me, i tried really hard the last time. no go. i actually have the option of fresh mushrooms over dried. would that be better?? i always thought it would make my stomach problems worse, just because there would be more mass sitting in there. so... question. would it be better to eat fresh shroom (or make tea out of them)? also, why would tea make me sicker? i realize the trip comes on faster, but you'd think without the actual mushies in my stomach it would be better. i've tried eating ginger, grinding the shrooms up into tiny pieces, eating motion sickness pills, not eating beforehand, eating beforehand.. basically i've tried everything. dammit! help me please!

I have a friend who is actually allergic to mushrooms. Everytime he eats them his hands swell and his face gets puffy. But he still eats them anyway hope it doesnt keep getting worse.

they bruise blue if you touch them.... is there white mold on them?? if there is, i wouldn't eat them. i know what it is like to be sick from mushrooms and if you're tripping at the same time it makes it about as fun as a bag of dicks (my bro's favorite expression... lol).

Shroom Tea may help. Here's my reasoning. Dried food matter is particularly hard on the stomach. It is very hard for some people to digest. So if this may be your problem, perhaps the tea will eliminate it. Sort of like Vegetarians that suddenly eat meat. Their stomachs are not used to digesting meat...meat is not the easiest thing to digest. It often makes them sick to eat meat. Karen

I believe what Karen suggested may help, I would add one more step and say make the tea from fresh mushrooms, this would lesson the exposure time and cut down on bacteria growth...Also, drinking the tea over time opposed to gulping it down would lower the shock factor..

lol bacteria grows everywhere..depending on your immunes system yes it can make you sick..there is no need for an article to prove this.when a mushroom rots away what do you think is causing it to decompose? bacteria..what do you think that is going to do to your stomach?

LCid, either learn to type/spell or don't post while inebriated! Hahaha. I barely understood that. I get horribly sick sometimes when I eat shrooms. But for me, it's all psychological. As soon as I stop thinking about it and get sidetracked, the nausea goes away.

meat -- the blue stuff inside is Psilocybin, the active ingredient in shrooms. if it wasn't in there you wouldn't be trippin

...hummmm...ginger doesn't work...see a doctor, it sounds like a stomach or intestinal problem ( and health issues can be VERY serious or become life threatening... )
