i have a cell phone, its a good thing to have..
i dont answer the phone or make calls till after 9pm,
cuz im either sleeping or at work before then.
..usually dont check my messages till days after i get them...
..well basically i use the phone as little as possible.

its pretty much there for convience & to meet up with pplz.

Yeah I don't have a cell phone either! The idea of someone being able to call me almost 24/7 scares me.

Cell phones are being built with GPS receivers in them, not that the owner can use to find his location...just for the "operator" to find his location. Supposedly for 911 calls and other "emergencies" :rolleyes:

I also like to joke about cell-phones taking over the human race some day. Basically we have a distributed network of intelligent agents - and we're making them more intelligent by the day. Very closely resembles the structure of the brain. One day the whole network will just wake up and become sentient. Then we're all fucked, because everyone's carrying them in their pockets :smirk:

hey i'm actually getting my first cell phone ever tomorow! i'm finally entering the oh-so-fashionable technological world! weeee!

and i don't plan on leaving it on 24/7, i don't plan on using it for useless conversations, i don't plan on using it while driving (that's actually illegal in france), and i don't plan on putting one of those annoying and dumb ringtones on it.

i hope that doesn't put me in the "idiotic cellphone user" category... :crazy:

Ok people completley missed the real reason to not have a cell phone. Brain cancer! In Europe it is recommended to not spend more than 3 minutes at a time on a cell phone, after the three minutes the microwaves(same ones they use to cook shit in)bring down your blood-brain barrier which causes cognitive distortion and after several years of use brain cancer.
