getting bittornado to upload

ok, here we go
im running debian testing
installed bit tornado with apt-get
i had shorewall installed at one time but it was uninstalled
i forwarded the ports 6881 to 6889 through the linksys router

the problem is i only get the yellow light that means noone is getting uploads from me.
im not sure what to try from here.
im lost

i did a port scan on these ports, i have them forwarded through the route but they dont show up

it i forward port 80 it will show up on the scan.
I forwarded 30-40 just to see what happens and the scan said they were stealth.
i also tryed to forward 21 to see if that works, the scan still said stealth

does it seem like the problem is with the router?

i'm running bit-torrent on debian, although i use azureus, which requires java. no firewall, i just forwarded the ports in my router and i was good to go. :shrug:
