Can you get download manager type programs for UPLOADING data?
    #5268581 - 02/06/06 06:03 AM (17 years, 11 months ago)

Hey everyone;

there are many download managers that let you download files from servers faster by dividing the download into many streams. Programs like Net Transport, for example.

Are there any such programs that let you upload in the same way, in many streams?

The connection I'm on limits each transport stream to 30kB/s, so such a program would let me upload stuff way faster.

If you split the bandwidth like you propose, the uploads would indeed be slower and take longer to complete.

How would that work? On my connection, I have virtually unlimited bandwidth, but the maximum speed is 30kB/s.

I can download fifteen things at once, and they all download at 30kB/s.

:confused:

I really dont know, except for a couple suggestions.

If they are small, just upload alot of them at once.

If its giant files like movies or something, I imagine something like winrar will split them into multiple files in wich you could send them at once?

I dunno, but whoever you are sending them to, or the server you send them to has to support it aswell.

Thanks guys, you're right, without server side support it's not gonna happen.

I think I'll RAR it and just upload manually, as you suggested tak - thank you :laugh:
