Very annoying sound.

I have an airconditioner in my bedroom window so when its off the sounds from outside are very noticeable. For the past month I have bene hearing what sounds like a baskettball referee whistle blowing right outside my window (that pulsing sound it makes). Obviously its not as loud as a whistle though. I can hear it all throughout my room and it is annoying the hell out of me. What type of animal or insect would be making this noise? My rooms on the second story of the house if that helps any.

That's what I thought and it could very well be but usually the crickets dont whistle that fast or atleast I didnt think they did. hah. I was just hoping it wasnt a bat nesting in the shutter or somthing but I don't really know what they sound like. :shrug:

I have vines growing up the side of my house right by my window he's probably chillin on the vine. I'm about to try to find a bottle of raid or somthing similar and spray around out there at the vine like a madman.

Oh man, we used to have this song bird that would sing like 20 songs ALL day and night.  I swear that thing would NEVER shut up.  One day my roomate found what tree it was in and kicked the shit out of that tree.  It was the funniest thing I ever saw.  The bird never came back.

As for as really annoying sounds, check this out:  I live next to 3 different dumpsters which get emptied like 3 times a week.  This means that 3 mornings out of the week I am woken up 3 different times by one of THE most annoying sounds ever.  If you have never heard... imagine a semi flying down your street and crashing into a dumpster, then backing up and doing it again and again--that is the sound of emptying a dumpster :frown:

Cicadas, perhaps? We have them here in the south, although they've never bothered me as I sleep like the dead anyway.

That could be too. I think we have them in NY. Whatever it is finally shut up for now. I sprayed some raid on the vines outside my window. Maybe I killed the bastard. hah. :evil:
