thinking of getting a hendrix tattoo

so, about a year ago I was broke and beat. Had to pawn off my record player & stereo because I grew tired of being hungry - some relief was needed. Well, I havent been able to listen to all my favorite records including my hendrix collection.

after reading a thread about hendrix here in the pub, I decided I needed to listen to hendrix again - it had been far too long. So, I downloaded the albums from my friends on soulseek.

Been listening to him the past three days - I'm really hearing the music on a different level. Maybe it's because I've had a really hard past year - lots of broken hearts and struggles staying afloat - and the electric blues are really resonating. The sound has gotten my soul. The sound came right through that man. Like what Bill Hicks went off on, Hendrix played with his heart.

I am considering getting a tattoo of Hendrix - just a portrait - perhaps instead of the usual grayscale portrait, maybe something in red and yellow and organge and purple ink with no black - if possible. Just something colorful and true to how I see the music in my head (which is of those shades).

i've had the most fucked up years or so of my life,ups and downs like mad....

same thing my old music,just sounds amazing now,like it's beutiful now,haha....

Download some Apartment 86 - Quite seriously the best Hendrix recording ever. Just him in his apartment kicking it - You can hear him turn the pages of the music as well as the phone ring once...Most intimate Hendrix recording I've ever came across...

done on his forearms of his sons.

I mean...REALLY fucking good.

I love Hendrix but I think the tattoo idea is stupid. Tattoos are ugly and permanent.

Ive had the same idea, I want it on my left upper arm or my left shoulder blade, due to the fact he was left handed, and because I love music, its my life, and hendrix, to me, is music. I saw go for it! if u get it, post pics asap =)

That's why I want to wait before I get it done...or any tattoo...to make sure I actually want it. It really depends on the artwork - I dont think I want a straight portrait - something more abstract - where it isnt obviously Hendrix at first. Dont worry - I'll put alot of thought into this - like I did with my other tattoos :thumbup:

why not do something along the lines of getting something that will last maybe a month of two so you can try it out and see how you like it. i don't really know the deal with semi permanent tatts but you know, test drive the idea before you commit.
