...Tuesday. To be honest, I think I should hold off on the retreat until I get my own stuff straightened out here. I'd like to start working right away. There's just so much I could do for myself if I had a little bit of money.
I'll probably schedule some time off in october for my retreat, or just maybe steal a few days off in August.
Anyway, I have to be all clean and spiffy for this interview. I hope my eye infection clears up before then.

Yes, I started working when I was 16. I've worked a total of 9 jobs, but have only maintained four of those for longer then a month.
My goal is to get a job and you know...stick with it for awhile.

I disagree. I had my first direct taste of the inseparability of form and emptiness whilst working in a convienience store. Anywhere can become place where spiriutal practice can blossom into realization.

i dont know. it well could be, but for a kid that was almost homeless a year and a half ago and had NOTHING going for him, im now going to college for something i love and working a great summer job until i get my apprenticeship next april.

that's not really a safe job.
being held up at gunpoint is not a fun thing.
you should get a job at a headshop or garden center.(supplies!)

That's not true it totally depends where the store is. Generally if it's in a city there's a fair amount of risk and if it's in the country there's much less risk. Suburban convenience stores have almost no odds of being held up. I worked at a quicky mart in my college town for two years and the worst thing that ever happened is someone broke a window and threw a firework in late at night while it was closed.

I kind of feel sorry for the 7-11 people who have to deal with me stumbling in drunk at 3 AM to find something I'd already forgotten in the 2 minutes it took me to get there.

This one time me and some friends went to 7-11 and me and a buddy were yelling "I'M SO FUCKING DRUNK" at each other, and knocking all this shit over. It was pretty funny.

If you never worked as a quicky mart clerk you have no business commenting on whether they should or should not enjoy drunk kids who come in and fuck with the store. Late at night when you're tired and alone it's not as much of a hoot as you might imagine.
