I can feel your pain...

Just be yourself!~

No matter what anyone thinks of you...

be yourself!~

---

I screwed up one time...

I had a very good female friend that was like a little sister...confide in me that she was gay.

I tried everything in my power to try and change her mind.
All I did was piss her off and make her upset and not want to talk to me about it.
I even had guys hit on her...to try and get in her pants...thinking that might help.
God I was stupid!~

It was a mistake on my part...and I learned my lesson the hard way.
I lost a very close friend over not accepting them for who they really were.

She stopped talking to me...she stopped coming over...
she wouldn't return my phone calls...and when she moved she didn't contact me.

That was 18 years ago!~

I haven't seen her in over 12 years now...I ran into her, she was a security guard at a College...and she brushed me off.
She said "it was nice seeing me...but she had to get going". <--the ultimate brush off!~

I wish I could find her...and tell her that I'm sorry...
and that my feelings have changed on the subject...and that my attitude has changed too.

I was brought up that being gay was wrong!~
It's taken alot of years to break down what I was taught.
people are people...no matter what their sexual preference is...
they have feelings and deserve to be treated the same as everyone else.

I hope if you do come out...that your friends and family will be more understanding than I was.

much  to ya!~

and I wish you the best.

take care!~

I feel very bad for you, and it's really unfortunate that you have to live the way you do simply because of something you inherited at birth (Being gay is widely accepted as genetic. Trait:Sexuality Characteristic: Gay/straight) Twins raised in a completely different environment have 80% chance to be gay if the other one is.

Anyway, you have my sympathy, however there's really nothing you can do to drastically change the views of society, so you need to either make a change or learn to deal with your current situation(as hard as it may be)

Stay strong, millions before you have survived the same predicament.

I strongly believe that people aren't born gay. I have many gay friends and we've had some very good talks about it.

The way I see it, humans just need some scapegoat. They need someone to hate. If you look back in history, there has always been a scapegoat: Witches, races, homosexuals..

We need to progress out of the darkages of hate and accept people for who they are.

I think human sexuality is far too complex to reduce it to "being born with it" or not. I imagine there's many factors, including genetics, but also including upbringing, social setting, beliefs, etc. I believe that certain people have a stronger predisposition to be gay than other people, but other factors may prevent it from manifesting itself.

That's very cool of you, Roadkill. Being able to overcome emotional opinions that you realize are irrational and hurtful takes a huge amount of strength. That is one of the most noble things you can do.

As for people who find the idea of two men together disgusting, there's nothing natural about that opinion. I've never heard of anyone having that opinion who wasn't raised to think that way. That kind of disgust is your problem, and nobody else's. If the sight of two men together hurts your dainty little eyes, maybe you shouldn't doing things like going out in public, where you might accidentally be exposed to such things.

The only reason a lot of gays feel shameful and have a hard time coming out is because of the social stigma related to it. If people didn't give a fucking shit about gay people, everyone would be open about it. There would be no reason to "come out." One wouldn't really need to come out if society just simply accepted it.

I'm gay, and if I had a choice, I have no idea what I'd choose to be. It would be easier to be straight since this is a straight world, but at the same time, I'm completely comfortable with my homosexuality and I think men are frikken hot. Not all men, just the one's who are my type. Also, I hate kids and would never want one. I'm also against conventional ideas such as marriage and celebrating holidays. Anyway, just my 2 cents. Sorry to bump an extremely old thread, I searched for 'homosexuality' and I'm responding too all that I have a heavy stance on.

I don't come out not because I'm afraid anyone won't accept me, and if they don't fuck em anyway. By now most of my friends and family probably know I'm bi but I simply never told anyone cause its none of their business and I don't want them to know.
