Ever become attracted to someone that you werent attracted to?

I just feel shallow =( The gist of it is..I met 2 girls online. One showed me a great pic, and when we met she didn't quite.."match up" to the pic let's say. Not ugly, but not what I was expecting. MY PICS were nice and updated, cause I'm cool like that.

and the other girl..I dunno. I like talking to her so I kind of got roped into meeting her. Not attracted to her really..little heavy (I'm a big girl magnet).

I don't want to think like this, but that's how I'm thinking atm. Am I shallow?

I wouldn't say your shallow.... You just seem like you have a few particulars.

Nothin' wrong with that. If you're not physically attracted to someone, it's okay to be their friend. As long as you're not leading them on.

Dude, think of it like this:

These are just internet girls anyway. You don't REALLY know them, and you don't owe them anything. Just be honest, and if they get hurt, oh well. No one can be mad at you for being honest.

I resent that "they're just internet girls" and wouldn't be so quick to disregard them like that. Although I suppose it depends how you view the internet and how much and how regularly you talk to them I suppose. A lot of deep and meaningful relationships/bonds/connections can be forged via talking over the internet, I believe. It's a really excellent way of getting to know someone extremely well because there is none of the initial inhibitions and stuff that you get when you're in the presence of somebody. Nothing to distract you with, just two minds connecting...

not always true...but iv seen alot of these cases (unfortunatly). the internet helps in letting people know who u r but yea... iv seen this when ppl send hot pics and turn out ugly. its like... not even cool to do that kinda stuff lol

I see what you're saying, Rogue_Pixie. I understand that. But investing in a relationship over the internet and actually doing it IRL are two very different things. And I think real life interaction supercedes internet conversation. If he doesn't like the girl, he doesn't like the girl. I'm not saying he should just be a dick to her and disregard her feelings, but I think that he shouldn't be too concerned about it. Even if these girls get dumped, there's always more fish in the cyber-sea.

I agree with this, but it seems very possible for bitterness or some sort of unhappiness to develop when the internet exemplifies it's limits and you feel like you may want to be a part of this person's day-to-day life, hanging out and doing simple things people take for granted.
