Preserving actual DampRid itself?

I just went out today and bought a big refill container of DampRid, the kind in the half-gallon milk container. I'm kind of concerned though that once I open it and use a little of it the rest will go "bad" so to speak. Is this even a problem? If it is a possibility, is there something I can do? I have canning jars and a vacuum sealer so that's an option, but also a pain in the ass.

Any help would be GREATLY appretiated, time is of the essense.....

Put it in a tupperware container if you cant get it to reseal very well after opening. But I imagine something like a potato bag clip would keep it tightly enough sealed.

Many of the dehydrating products can be put in an oven at 350 for 1 hour and they will be good as new. This is how I do mine. Been using the same stuff for three years now and it still makes em cracker dry.

I never have any trouble just leaving it in the milk carton. It would probalby depend on the humidity in your environment though. I think that if you live in a place that's not really humid, then you should be allright just closing the carton.

Just leave it in the carton--that's how I keep it, and as long as the container is closed there shouldn't be any problem.
