I am looking into buying one of these herb grinders that come with a kif screen and i am not sure what the advantages would be to buying a 70 dollar space case or mix n ball grinder over on of the honey dust acrilic ones. Doies the pollen stick more to the plastic ones? Anyone have any of these and would care to tell me how well they work? I smoke about a 1/4 a week if that matters at all. I also plan on cleaning it every couple weeks so i don't think the resin should e a problem. If you can share your expiriences i appreciate it.

They collect keif great. The only differences would be how well they were made and the screen size in them. You'll probably be pretty happy with any of them, maybe others have experience with those brands. It'll be definatly worth it for you, and I dont think I'd get a plastic one, mine and all the others I've seen have been metal, and I wouldnt want it different. How well it will collect will depend on the size screen that it has, and how well you shake it, along with how cyrstally the bud you smoke is and how dry. Dry nice bud, will collect rather quickly. After a month you'd probably have a nice pile that could have some slight heat and pressure applied to it to create a nice rock of hash, maybe a gram or so, could be alot more or alot less.

ok i was thinking the same thing regarding the plastic versus titanium. Do i really need to press the kif though or can i just put it on some shake?

No you dont need to press it, you can just throw some powder on top of a bowl. Doesnt work well in joints or blunts though...ok..but not as well as bowls. Layering the powder in the bowls works well, 2 or 3 layers..or break up a nice bowl in the keif part of the grinder, and scrape it all around coating the nugs in powder and through it all in a bowl with a little extra on top...make sure you hold the flame over the crystals a bit though, they light on fire and burn away very easily, the flame doesnt even need to hit it, just heat from the flame.
You could probably get a bowl like that (half cyrstals) every week or two, and it'll fuck ya up good.

I've never had a grinder with a kief catcher, but I had a simple acrylic grinder that worked fine for me until a cop "confiscated" (i.e. stole) it. If you want a screen in it, I would suggest the space case. A friend of mine has one that has lasted him over two years with no problems. It's probably better to spend a little extra money and get what you really want rather than settling for a second rate grinder. The only advantage of a titanium grinder is that it won't clog up with resin quite as easily as an acrylic one.
Peace, DHarp

Grasscity looks like a good site to buy from, but I've never bought from them personally.
My local headshop started an online store but they want like $115 american for the larger space cases! Holy shit. If it were in canadian funds I'd pay up to $100 only because they kick so much ass.
I'm thinking that a space case grinder's definitely looking to be worth the moula

my experience with the space case is that when you grind it, smalll metal shavings will eventually grind off with every twist and get in your herb. personally, i prefer not to smoke metal. with wooden grinders, they will eventually stick and no longer grind because of all the keif. a good home-made old fashioned way to break it up is put it in a 2 ounce shot glass, get some scissors, and go to town. this is cheap and just as effective as a over priced piece of metal (seriously though, who cares if the thing you use to grind up your herb is the same shit they use in space.) as far as kif goes, i have a wooden stash box with a screen in it that is about a half inch above the bottom, i throw my weed in there and eventually all the pollen will pile up on the bottom from falling off your nuggs through the screen. dont waste your money

I bought my keif box at the local head shop for like $70. It was well worth it! I've got like a gram and a half of keif saved up in a little jar and more collects every time I clean out a bowl. I just took 2 hits of straight keif and I'm fried! The screen in my box is made of silk and that's what I always hear them talking about in hight times, the silk screen. The metal grinder collectors have metal screen so I think a box with a silk screen would be a little better but they would both do the trick. I say go out and buy one, you get so fried from keif!!!

I have a kif box also, its round, metal, and has a metal screen in it. Mine was like $80 at a head shop. There is no grinder in it I just cut up my nugs with scissors. For whoever said kif isn't that great in blunts/joints should try rolling just the kif up, that was some of the best smoke I've ever had!

i bought a non pollen collecting space case 3 years ago and dont know how i smoked without it. Ive never seen a case of metal shavings getting into my smoke, only problem i have with it is having to clean off the rez/gunk that builds up after using it for a while (the shit you scrape gets you pretty lifted to).

coda- just use rubbing alcohol to clean off the sticky shit..it works wonders! Mine looked brand new after using alcohol.
I've never had a problem with my spacecase putting metal shards in my weed. Had mine for almost 2 years now and i've been very happy with it
kiff gets me sooo high
