Areas surrounding Astoria
    #438600 - 10/27/01 04:44 PM (17 years, 1 month ago)

My folks have a beach house about 30 miles north of Astoria. They're right by the dunes before the beach, would it be fruitful to search in that area? It's in Ocean Park, Washington, on the pennensula. I don't know if I'm going to be hunting down in Astoria and I don't really want to drive there to spend two days in the rain coming across nothing but puffballs. Anyone found anything in Long Beach or Ocean Park?

dude, ocean park is cool....i was just there day before yesterday, went up to leadbetter and picked some king boletes, some leccinums and some chanterelles (trumpets).
yes, astoria is on. but you would (i think) have to go down to astoria (actually go south west, like around warrenton and seaside) and definitely look in the dune grass....yer lucky to live in o.p., go get you some food, dude!!!! what about all those damn muscarias!!! beautiful place, peace
