Animal Chin?? Haven't heard that name in a while! Bring your deck if you go when the weather's good. They just built a great-looking park south of town. Just saw it today. It looks reeealy nice. Btw, my cyan and mini-azure patches weren't fruiting as of today. One older rotten fruit, no pins or anything else. Who knows; maybe it was just picked over heavily yesterday... If the other guy says it's worth going, it probably is. Good luck.

I must be a retard buy I can't seem to figure out where you are coming from exactly. The weather over here (I live just 40 miles east of the coast, Newport) is getting colder, which will push the fruiting farther to the south. By the 7th, Astoria may still be holding some Azures but I'm not sure it would be worth the trip. What little will be there will most likely be picked over. They go pretty fast around this whole area. If at all possible, you might want to consider going further south, say down to Florence or so. They probably won't have Azures but the Cyan's should be fruiting well. At least, they are at this point. No telling what the next week will bring though. Like I said, the cold air is pushing the fruiting south, so the best bet is to keep checking back on the weather in the next week. By the way, it has been raining like crazy over here! PM me if you have some more questions. Hope this helps. Grimace

I would suggest stopping along at parks and waysides along the entire Oregon coast, not just Florence and Astoria. I'm sure you'll find something along the way, Aminitas for sure. Just do a search on this board for Cyan's and you'll find lots of good pics. Go to mushroom johns site (can't remember the address) and he has lots of good info on Cyan's and other you may come across, good pics too. Do the research, it will pay off. Good luck and have a safe drive. Grimace
