Detoxing myself...

I've been heavily abusing hard drugs again for awhile now, particularly H......It's time to chill out for a bit, so I'm detoxing myself, cold turkey. I'm in for a shitty few days Oh well, ya have your fun then ya pay for it, it's all worth it in my opinion.

How long have you been using, man?
Get yourself going on a program after you detox. If you don't, odds are that you'll start on heroin again.
Unless you want to keep using.

I've been using H on and off for over a year(more time on in the last several months), oxycontin and morphine for on and off (more time on than off) for more than 2 and a half years, and coke and off for over 2 and a half years. I want to keep using, but as moderately as possible, if that doesn't work (which it usually doesn't) I'll do detoxes every so often, I've let myself go way to far before, and I never want to go back to that. I'll stop completely eventually, but for now........

i've always wanted to try these drugs to see what real addiction is like. but i don't want to actually do the drugs. too bad there isn't a way to get the addiction without the drugs

I am also trying to detox myself, except I'm not using heroin.
Stay strong man, and rediscover the wonders of sobriety.

Yeah, how bout it....chucksteak, why the hell would you want to experience the negatives of drug use without the positive? If you're going to go through you might as well have as much fun as possible. If you don't know the high you can never know the addiction.

it just seams that all the really addictive things (including cigs) don't really appeal to me, and i'm just curious about real addiction feels like. i mean, with weed, i sometimes crave it, or i sometimes can't seam to stop from smoking it when i have it. but at any point i could stop cold turkey and not really think about it as long as i'm occupied with something else. i'm curious what it feels like to completely lose control of yourself and watch it happen.
truth be told though, the main reason i stay away from these drugs is that i'm pussy when it comes to needles and snorting stuff.

Really, man, find an NA meeting, find a sponsor, go through steps. It would suck for your life to cut short by this kind of addiction.

Oh come on, wave after wave of intense physical pleasure doesn't appeal to you? Gimme a break...

Nah, fuck NA....they are completely anti-drug, and I'm not down with that. Psychedelics have had an incredibly positive impact on me and my life, and they have proven to be the best allies in my battle with addiction, there's no way I will sit and listen to people bashing them and their impact on my life. If there is an open-minded and psychedelic friendly support group I'd definitely check that out. Thank you alll for your kind words, concern and support, it means a lot to me!

You've got it all wrong, son. The beauty of addiction is that you DON'T see it coming... You don't see what you've become until you are addicted. I've watched it as fly among some friends...
But I do know where you're coming from, wanting to experience a 'hardcore' addiction just to know what it's like. I want to know how others really feel. Empathy? Perhaps. Odd? I guess.
Dark_Star: I'm glad you want to take a break, but sometimes it's much harder to do than you think. You seem to be educated on the matters of these drugs, but even still, be wary of your own self. Good luck man

The right thing isn't always the fun thing. Of course, who's to say that addiction is wrong?
You have to ask yourself what you want for yourself. Since you made this post, I'm guessing that some part of you wants to break the addiction once and for all. However, it also sounds like you're letting the drug get the best of you, and going back to it, and frankly who can blame you? It's an incredible rush of euphoria and joy and everything is right in the world!
If you want to break the addiction, then you can do it, but going back and forth isn't going to help. IMHO, you should choose either those drugs or sobriety. You must be prepared to suffer consequences (including potentially death) for your decision, so make it wisely and after thinking it though.
Good luck with whatever you choose man.
