I just got introduced to this band a few weeks ago, and I am really diggin their stuff!

I've been listening to some of their stuff on www.archive.org nonstop!  Would love to check them out live sometime.

Anyone else dig them or see them live??

not sure... they're like jam band meets funky techno. so maybe?

I just got into them, so yeah any tidbits would be cool if anyone has them!

hell yeah! have you ever been to one of their shows?

they play in Tahoe quite a bit, and I have friends near there. Next time they play there I am road trippin down there!

m00nshine is currently vacationing in Maui. Rumor has it he got rolled by drunken natives and is currently prostituting himself in order to pay for airfare back to the mainland but he's having trouble juggling a hairon addiction. He won't be back for a long while.

yea i have seen both particle and hydra before

the last particle show i saw was at wakarusa, late night on friday. the fiddler player from railroad earth (by the way, another great band to check out) and the trumpet and sax players from ozomatli (ditto) came out and jammed with particle for a while

they had these awesome visuals projected on the top of the tent. the base was a live video feed of the band members, overlayed with winamp style visualizations. totally trippy and i caught myself many times with my head back, just staring up into the tent  :smile:

Yeah, I like em. I like the way they mix funk and techno. They actually came here a few months ago, but I didn't go see them because I couldn't get anyone to go with me. I was going to go by myself, but something else came up and I didn't. Next time they are around I definitely will though.

Ya I like them, saw them about 4 months ago in town.

I really like their keyboard player, but I think their lead guitarist is a bit overbearing and bossy at times~

Was about to catch a show of their's in Santa Cruz at the Catalyst but I got cold feet at the last minute since it required a 400 mile drive to get there - and from the samples I heard on their website I didn't immediately fall in love with them.  Then again, I didn't immediately fall in love with the Dead and now ten years later I'm a fucking fanatic! :grin:

yea, i know what you're saying. just hearing samples on your PC, you can't really compare that to seeing them live. i wouldn't say i am "in love" with particle, they're no grateful dead or anything, but they do put on a rockin live performance which is why i really dig them

my fav. band member is probably the keyboard player as well

I was under the impression that they were more of a straight electronic band than a live act?

I'm still pissed I missed that but I was nodding off while standing up so I had to make the sad decision of going back to the tent for some much needed sleep.
