Reading 'The Addictive Personality : Understanding the Addictive Process and Compulsive Behavior'

This book is amazing, I've only made it through the first 40 pages so far but it has given me a better of understanding of my own addictive personality.

I urge everyone to give this book a chance, I'm sure you'll benefit from it  :thumbup:

Thanks for the recommedation, I've always been curious as to how much of a part, and what kind of part my personality plays in my drug usage, particularly my addictions.

Has some interesting stuff about drugs like extacy, cocaine, marijuana, alcohol, & amphetamines which all always give me a real hard-time  :nonono:

Also covers sex addicts, gambling addicts, food addicts & alcoholics.

This book actually looks really good, I think I will definitly give it a read. Addiction is a major problem on both sides of my family, and I see it in myself a lot

Does it have anything about heroin and other opiates, they are the ones that really have me, although I've also had problems with coke.

Damn, that's rough....good luck. I've had an on and off again addiction to coke for the past 2 and a half years (more than 2 and a half actually), and a most of the time on addiction to opiates for the same period of time. Coke always gets me, but I get frustrated with it and drop it after a month or 2, opiates always hold on really tight to me, heroin is my true  :heart:

Who am I kidding, now that I think about it - it's been closer to 2 and a half :oogle:

All I can say is it started out innocent enough  :bored:

As of yesterday I decided I'm taking 2 months off marijuana & cocaino.
Just the freezy pops for me now.

Cool man, good luck. After this weekend I'm going to try to really cut down of my H usage, keep it down to a weekend habit....less often would be better, but that won't happen.
