David Byrne at the Hollywood Bowl

about 2/3rds of the way through the show, he brought the 'extra action marching band' out...which was about 30 people mixed between percussion, brass and hot flag bitches.
he closed the show with Beyonce's Crazy in Love.
the whole place went the fuck off......
I don't think I'll be able to get the image of David Byrne bouncing around on stage in a bright pink suit singing
'... Got me looking so crazy right now, your love's got me looking so crazy right now...'
he also did psycho killer, burning down the house, road to nowhere, once in a lifetime and a host of other great Talking Heads tracks.
'..wasted...but it's alright...everything is finite..'
huzzah!

I had the chance to see him last summer and I'm pretty sure it was one of the best concerts I've seen out of over one hundred other bands. I couldn't honestly pick out one and call it the best but he put on one hell of a show. The energy that man has is amazing, his stage presence is larger than life.

Bonnaroo?
If you're talking about that set at Bonnaroo, I know exactly what you mean...I still listen to those discs and get chills.
He was playing with the same arrangment...Tosca strings and some percussionists.

David Byrne is seriously one of my favorite human beings in the whole entire world. Glad to hear you had such a great time afoaf...I'm seeing him Wednesday in Central Park. Last time I saw him it was last year, my 21st birthday, at Carnegie fucking Hall...amazing.
Paw: David Byrne is a solo act now, Talking Heads members don't perform with him. He doesn't get along great with them, though he did perform with them when the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

who's on the ticket for that?
I don't know if he'll have extra action with him...I think they performed the cali shows...they are out of SF, but if they are on the bill, you're going to see some fun stuff.
we were supposed to eat the paper last night, but I couldn't cuz I gotta go onsite with a customer today.

Ah that's too bad but I'm sure you had an amazing time.
Isn't he one of the greatest performers ever? His stage presence is titanic...
Did you get to see the Arcade Fire open for him? And did anyone from Arcade Fire join him onstage? Honestly, that's a dream bill for me, them opening for him, gah! The opener in Central Park is Pink Martini, this jazzy band that sings in english french spanish and japanese and sounds like they're straight outta the 20's. I'll probably eat some paper and time it so I get there between their set and DB's.

yeah...the arcade fire had their high notes and their low notes.
he brought the 4 dudes out to sing once in a lifetime...but they didn't know the words very well.
Byrne's on-stage persona is fun...he's very calm and personal on stage...and he dances rad.

Beck is one of my favorite on-stage dancers, but Byrne blows him outta the water. Every single one of his moves is so sweet, and he has that classy foot-tapping action just like David Bowie does when you see him live. Something about an older man who still rocks out hard who taps their foot to the music, and you're like "man, he gets it."
Once in a Lifetime was one of the most epic moments of my life...people were dancing in the aisles, going crazy. MAN! I AM SO EXCITED FOR WEDNESDAY! MUST BE TRIPPING!!

Wow! I'll bet that was an amazing show! I love all of those songs especially Psycho Killer! His show at the music fest Bonnaroo was stellar!

He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.

I need my Talking Heads fixes CONSTANTLY! Heh...they're my favorite tripping or stoned music too...Byrne still has all the charisma he had when he was younger, it's just different now that he's older, more classy and stylish. Do you have his solo stuff?
That website is THE talking heads website to go to, definitely!

That's my favorite Talking Heads song...if I ever get married, which I intend to someday, that will be the song I ask my wife to dance with me to..

He has a few solo albums but the shing stars are the last 3:
Feelings Look into the Eyeball Grown Backwards
The first two are the most Heads-ish, the last one's way mellower.
