am i the only one who thinks syd's involvment with the floyd is kind of over rated? He was only on 1.5 albums. Gilmore/waters

I agree. Early Floyd is okay but I think it pales in comparison to later Floyd.

i really hate syd era floyd, with the exception of astonome domine(sp, i know), interstellar overdrive, and Lucifer Sam sometimes.  i don't like the way it sounds at all, and in my opinion, he did way too many drugs, and really was not a particularly good musician or song writer.  all MY OPINION of course.

personally, i cant wait to hear the show from live8, as far as i am concerned, pink floyd was only really great when all four members (Gilmore, not doofus) were working together.  mostly DSotM and WYWH were their peaks in my opinion.

music is oh so subjective, though, like for example how i hate the Beatles and rolling stones, and people tell me i am wrong! :wtf:

If syd would of stayed in the band and there was no gilmore i bet the band would of went no where. Piper at the gates is one of my least favorite ones and he is barly on saucerful of secrets.
