Christian Bale in 'The Machinist'

Saw this movie over the weekend (rented it on DVD). I don't really have a comment about the movie, but rather about Christian Bale himslef. If anyone has seen this movie then you will understand how freaky it was to see him in this movie. He was so fucking skinny it was sickening! The character was supposed to be emaciated and Bale went all the way for this part! He looked like a fucking holocaust survivor!! I watched the DVD extras and hes says he basically just did not eat. I just can't believe the lengths actors will go to. It certainly can't be healthy to do that to yourself, or very pleasant either. But I gotta have respect for someone who can have that much dedication to their job!

I must say I resemble him somewhat  :smirk:

haha...Considering I am only 140 pds. I probably resemble his "Machinist" figure more than his buff figure.

Yeah, he did the new Batman so I figure hes gotta be in shape now. It was just freaky to see an actor lose that much weight. He was down to like 120 pounds (and hes not a short guy).

I was expecting more from the movie but Bale was great in it. How about when he sucked in at the start ...  :whoa:
