i don't think it's a bad analogy. Since hes not a musician, it would be more like him going on speaking tours with some conservative like Milton Friedman ( still pro-drug tho ).

Replacing Jim Morrison is the most retarded idea ever. Courtney love would thus not really be a replacement, which would give them the possibility of actually being good. Have you heard the stuff with people trying to imitate Jim, like astbury? Utter crap IMO. Courtney would have to have her own take on it.

Besides which, why do you people hate her so much?!?

She was nothing without Kurt. Hole was his brainchild musically and everybody knows it. Pretty on the Inside and Live Through This were good albums! Her screaming, gutteral take on singing, I liked it. But as soon as Kurt died and she released that shite album "Celebrity Skin," she showed her true colors:

I would have to disagree there. I actually think if this happens, Courtney Love is the best new singer they've had. At least with her, you know they're not trying to find someone to copy Jim. Nothing tops getting the guy from Creed to sing with The Doors. I rolled over in my grave when I saw that.

I don't hate her or anyone. I simply don't like idea of The Doors replacing Jim Morrison with anyone. They should have reformed under a different name to signify that replacing Jim wasn't their intent.

That album Celebrity Skin was god-awful. Download the title track. It was poppy fluff.


(Disclaimer: I don't mind poppy music - there was once a time in history when pop music was good music. Some of my favorite music now is the poppiest of indie rock.)

I just think they should have called themselves "Not To Touch The Earth" or something. That way, it's obvious that they aren't trying to continue anything, yet it's obvious that they're going to do Doors material or Doors influenced material.

Not really. The Dead have new members these days, but then again they always have had new members. Instead of finding some guy who looks, sounds and acts kind of like Jerry, ol' Bobby Weir took the helm. Plus, The Dead are more of a movement than just a band.
